Case Study
Website Design for Ashesi University, Ghana
BEFORE (right): In 2001 Studio Perspectives helped this new university launch their first website. I provided them with a basic template which they continued to update themselves in the years to come. As web standards continued to mature, however, it became increasingly difficult for the template to accommodate their expanding needs. Eventually, the site became a cobbling together of inconsistent type styles and menu systems.
AFTER (below): In 2010, they prepared for a major upgrade. My first goal was to create a cleaner, more open design, which would be able to accommodate more photos and more pages. Second, I implemented drop down and flyout menus to help navigate the site's many pages and departments. Additionally, the site architecture was created with a content management system or "CMS." This allowed school personnel to update and add pages themselves through a user control panel — without disrupting the page structure and type styles. Dreamoval, a programming team in Accra, Ghana, handled the formidable programming challenges. Vist this site.
